The shell is a simple granny motif and can be swapped for a different style of pattern if preferred.
Start in Colour B, Ch12, join to make a ring.
Rnd 1: ch3 (counts as 1tr throughout), 1tr in ring, (ch1, 3tr in ring) five times, ch1, 1tr in ring, sl st in 3rd ch, fasten off Colour B [6 3tr clusters]
Rnd 2: attach main colour to any chain space, ch3, 1tr in same space, ch1, 3tr in same space, (ch1, 3tr in next space, ch1, 3tr in same space) five times, ch1, 1tr in next space, sl st in 3rd ch, fasten off main colour. [12 3tr clusters]
Rnd 3: attach Colour B to any chain space, ch3, 1tr in same space, (ch1, 3tr in next space) eleven times, ch1, 1tr in next space, sl st in 3rd ch, fasten off colour B. [12 3tr clusters]
Rnd 4: attach main colour to any chain space, ch3, 1tr in same space, (ch1, 3tr in next space) eleven times, ch1, 1tr in next space, sl st in 3rd ch, fasten off main colour. [12 3tr clusters]
Rnd 5: attach colour B to any chain space, ch1, 1dc in each st around.
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.
Place the shell top over the body and stitch down all around.
Use the contrast colours to embroider dots on the top of the head, and add a smile to the front of the head.
Stitch down the eye pieces to finish.
